Chris Jericho talks WrestleMania

Chris Jericho appeared on The LAW Sunday night with Dan Lovranski and Jason Agnew to promote his new book ‘Undisputed, How to Become the World Champion in 1,372 Easy Steps’ as well as various other topics including discussions about a return this past January as well as his assessment of TNA’s show closing trailer to end ‘Impact’ this past week:

On being contacted for WrestleMania this year: ‘The original plan was for me to come back in January and then other things came up and other things were going on. There was no rush for me to come back I realized because the one good thing about me is that you can’t teach experience and I have 20-years of experience worldwide so I can come in whenever I want and still be – like when I left I think it was the best work of my career over the past three years and I left at the top of that still so I can still come back and make an impact at anytime. Then when these other things started happening and then The Rock came back, Triple H came back, The Undertaker, Booker T. and all these other guys are coming back, I don’t need to come back right now because if I was there who cares? The Rock is back, it doesn’t matter who else is on the show and then Triple H and The Undertaker are working together, so that’s going to eclipse everything else. It goes to show that those guys have been around just as long as I have, been gone longer than I have and come back and made a huge impact so I can wait in the weeds and pick and choose my time and that’s the beauty of it, I can call Vince and say this is when I want to come back or talk to him about it but there were discussions about it, absolutely, but ultimately they just didn’t transpire’.

More on Sin ‘Mistico’ Cara to WWE – Major Media + More

Note from Joe: As you may know, it has been a slow weekend and there aren't many news to post. I've been busy studying for tests for school, but everything will be back to normal by Monday. Thank you!

– WWE.com has a an article on Sin Cara’s (aka Mistico) signing, including a picture that shows off his new mask, photos from the Mexico press conference and more.

– Every major sports paper in Mexico covered the signing, and Sin Cara also filmed interviews for several TV outlets. Jim Ross posted to his Twitter account that he was currently training in Los Angeles. He will be brought right up to the main roster without developmental time or English classes.

– CMLL stated during their press conference yesterday that they had offered Mistico a new deal two weeks ago, though that was after he had signed with WWE. CMLL said they are retaining the rights, and that they will be eventually putting a someone under the mask as Mistico II, a la Tiger Mask II.

Major WWE plans for Mistico, IC title backstage news!

Partial Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Many fans have likely noticed that WWE’s Intercontinental championship has been put on the back-burner and really isn’t used for major angles as of late. An example of this was Kofi Kingston’s match against Alberto Del Rio at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. WWE went with a non-title match and the commentators basically ignored it and joked around. We noted prior to the PPV that there was talk of putting the IC title on the line and then doing a ‘champion vs. champion’ match at WrestleMania between Edge and Del Rio but that obviously didn’t happen.

Jim Ross tweeted the following on Sin ‘Mistico’ Cara: “Mistico is signed, sealed & delivered w/ WWE. Now known as Sin Cara. Helluva young hand. A new star looms on the horizon. Congrats Sin Cara. Every major media outlet in Mexico City present 4 Sin Cara media announcement. He’s doing 1 on 1′s now w/ them including espn deportes. It was great 2 rep WWE in Mexico City 4 Sin Cara signing anouncement. Appreciate the opportunity to step back on the field, so 2 speak. WWE has high hopes for Sin Cara. He has many new masks. Major TV ‘rollout,’ He’s 27 & has (opportunity to be) main eventer. A flyer, offensive innovator.” This is obviously WWE’s plan for the next Rey Mysterio.

As noted last week here on the website, RAW producer Kevin Dunn is not a big fan of Sheamus despite Triple H being on good terms with him. So far this year, Sheamus has a 1-8 record on WWE TV and pay-per-view events. Ouch.

Edge attends Ozzy Osbourne concert & Cena-Orton

A source sent this one in: Last Friday night I went to see Ozzy Osbourne concert that took place at St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, FL. Prior to the concert this is right before Slash went up first since he’s the opening act. While I was coming out of the merchandise stands and ready to go upstairs to my seats, I happened to run into Edge who was standing at the beer stands. As soon as I saw him, I didn’t see it coming cause it’s been a long time since the last time I saw him in person when I went to my very first Smackdown event in late 2007. I got the chance to chat with him briefly and it was really awesome to see Edge again. Not only that I jokingly told him “See you in Tampa” cause I’m glad WWE is hosting a PPV in Tampa after 11 long years. Overall, I had a fun time at the concert.

– A Greatest Stars of the New Millennium DVD is on tap for a July release, which would profile the likes of John Cena and Randy Orton. The title is a follow-up on prior Greatest Stars of the 80s and Greatest Stars of the 90s releases.

– A Randy Orton DVD and Blu-Ray is scheduled for a September release, but its format has apparently been changed as it will no longer be titled The Randy Orton Experience. A similarly titled John Cena featured a behind the scenes documentary.

Vickie Guerrero's SD! storyline, Elimination Chamber attendance

– World Heavyweight Champion Edge and Kelly Kelly vs. Drew McIntyre and Vickie Guerrero is advertised for tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown!. Should Guerrero’s team lose, she will be ‘fired’.

– Sunday’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California drew 11,500 fans.

– WWE’s RAW live event on April 22, 2011 has been moved to the Ankara Arena in Ankara, Turkey. The original location was Istanbul.

– World Wrestling Entertainment has plans to release a DVD on Rey Mysterio this July, their third title on the SmackDown! Superstar. A Blu-ray release is not scheduled at this time.

TNA Impact - 3/3/11 + Sting WWE

*Spoilers!* Here is a video from the end of TNA iMPACT! this week. This is an obvious shot at WWE basically telling them – “F- off, we’ve re-signed Sting”. WWE has contacted Sting several times over the last few years but he always turns them down due to his family and the WWE schedule. Sting has also never been a big fan of Vince McMahon due to some heat from years ago.

Ex-WWE star confirmed as new Tough Enough trainer

WWE issued the following press release today:

“WWE(R) TOUGH ENOUGH(R)” GETS SOME “STRATUS-FACTION”

Trish Stratus & Bill Demott Named Trainers

Former WWE(R) Women’s Champion Trish Stratus joins USA Network’s upcoming, non-scripted series WWE TOUGH ENOUGH(R) as a trainer. Stratus and Tough Enough veteran trainer Bill Demott join WWE Legend Booker T. as the training team for the show. WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin will serve as the host.

The series will premiere Monday, April 4 at 11/10c, the day after WrestleMania(R) and immediately following USA’s ratings juggernaut WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW(R), and move to its regularly scheduled slot in primetime, Mondays at 8/7c, starting on April 11.

With her natural athleticism, charismatic personality and knowledge of what it takes to be the best in WWE, Stratus is the ideal trainer for Tough Enough. In 2000, she made her television debut with WWE. Combining beauty, brains, strength, and a record breaking seven championships – for which she earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records – Stratus was the epitome of a “WWE DIVA” and helped to make the brand a cultural phenomenon. In 2006, Trish retired from WWE and will go down as one of the greatest Women’s Champions of all time. After retiring, Stratus focused her efforts on launching her lifestyle brand, which includes a yoga studio – the largest in Canada, a travel adventure series currently airing on the Discovery Channel and a yoga/fitness product line set to be released this fall, all under the Stratusphere banner name.

Along with fellow trainers Booker T and Bill Demott, Stratus will mentor the diverse group of WWE TOUGH ENOUGH men and women who will live, train, eat and sleep under one roof in a house in Southern California. Each week, the contestants will battle it out in a series of unique challenges designed to test for such characteristics as showmanship, creativity, athleticism and desire, just to name a few. Viewers will witness the trials and tribulations of what it takes to be one of the best in the world’s greatest sports entertainment organization. The grand prizewinner will be awarded a contract with WWE.

For more information on Stratus’ yoga studio and her upcoming feature film debut, log onto www.trishstratus.com

Update on today's WWE press conference in Mexico

At today’s WWE press conference in Mexico City, it is likely that WWE will announce two major things.

The first is that they will announce that they have signed the wrestler formerly known as Mistico. The other announcement could be that they are going to tape TV in Mexico for the first time when they tour there in May.

We’ll have more later.

WWE Tough Enough news with major *Spoilers!*

Partial Source: Pwinsider

According to a source, indy wrestler Matt “M-Dogg” Cross is rumored to be appearing on the new season of WWE’s Tough Enough. The show debuts on the USA Network the night after WrestleMania immediately following Monday night RAW. The show started taping last week.

We’ve been reporting that California indy wrestler “Big Nasty” Jason Watts and Miss USA Rima Fakih will also be a part of the show.

The trainers are Steve Austin, Booker T, Trish Stratus and Bill ‘Hugh Morris’ DeMott. Numerous WWE talents will also be making ‘cameos’ on the show.

It should be noted that all WWE Tough Enough contestants have signed confidentiality agreements meaning it’s very hard to get any information on the show or talents involved until the actual airing. We’re trying our best for ya’ though.

Dolph Ziggler continues to sell "firing" angle

Dolph Ziggler is continuing to sell his WWE ‘firing’ storyline on Twitter. He tweeted the following today, obviously referring to the 90-day no compete clause that WWE gives their talents when they are released: “Just got my first call for a possible booking, since being fired! Very exciting… My agency is William Morris, no televised bookings until after 5/12/11 Let the countdown begin! 90, 89, 88, 87, 86….” Of course, this is all a storyline angle but you’ve got to give both WWE and Dolph credit for utilizing Twitter to sell this angle.

Vince McMahon speaks - WrestleMania in Miami, FL

Vince McMahon recently spoke to the Miami Herald about bringing WrestleMania 28 to Miami. Here are some highlights…

On Miami As A Location: “You can’t deny the warmth and the greeting from officials and the fans. Every one of these WrestleManias takes on its own personality. You want to go where you are welcome. We are very welcome.”

On Working With The People In Miami: “You want to work with people who want to work with you,” McMahon said. “People who have a similar vision in terms of the event and the entertainment value you can bring, first and foremost. Then obviously there are other financial considerations that you have to look at. We are in business, and everyone is as well.”

On Running Outdoor Events: “One thing about an outdoor event is you can do a lot of things outdoors you can’t do indoors in terms of pyro and the overall show itself. You can do a lot more [outdoors],” McMahon said. “Again coming back to an open air stadium gives us the opportunity to do things that we can’t do in a closed environment. We just need to keep our fingers crossed in terms of maybe a little precipitation, but I think we are good with that as well. We have some connections.”

On Describing WrestleMania: “You can liken it somewhat to the Super Bowl, I suppose, but the other aspect of it is it’s a hybrid of all forms of sport entertainment rolled into one. There’s nothing like WrestleMania. It’s like the Super Bowl combined with a Broadway play. Maybe throw in a little demolition derby along with maybe Disney On Ice. It’s a combination of so many things, and you’ve never seen anything like WrestleMania before. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime event. To be there, to see it, to feel it, to experience it, and you have to really see it to believe it.”

A more detailed WWE SD! results

Source: Pwinsider.com

Dark Match:
(1) Percy Watson defeated Chavo Guerrero.

NXT:
The crowd wasn’t really interested in the NXT stuff besides a select few, but that was about it. I did pop however when Brodus Clay mentioned my hometown Stockton. Squealed like a little girl.

SMACKDOWN:
- Teddy Long was shown on the tron and said he will have Vickie fight for her job in a mixed tag with Drew as her partner against Edge and Kelly Kelly tonight in the Main Event.

(1) Rey Mysterio defeated. Kane.

Anyways, Crowd was red hot for the Rey Mysterio/Kane match. Rey wins by a rollup reversal. Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes comes down to have a chat with Rey. He tells Cody to come out giving him a speech to man up. Cody apoligizes to his father and rey. Rey shakes Dusty Rhodes hands, but Dusty doesn’t release the handshake and Cody ends up killing him. Great Opening Segment to build the Rey/Cody feud for Wrestlemania.

(2) Rosa Mendes defeated Layla with Michelle by Disqualification due to Michelle’s interference. Rosa actually didn’t do to bad in here which is surprising. At one point they took it to the outside and fought near where Michelle was on commentary. I couldn’t see really good, but it looked like Rosa pushes Michelle off of the chair and Layla gets back in the ring to try to win by countout. The ref turns to the outside to find Michelle attacking Rosa and disqualifies her. Layla finds out about this and is furious. She yells at Michelle, and Michelle gets back in the ring. Layla continues to yell at her and the crowd is yelling for a catfight to start. Instead, they both leave the ring and the dissension continues. I woukd say that the crowd was pretty hot for that confrontation. Just wondering who will make a face turn out of this?? Note to mention, Layla looked HOT!!

(3) Jack Swagger defeated Kofi Kingstin via ankle lock submission. Not much to note here, but Kofi selling the attack from Raw.

- Theres two backstage segments where Vickie is knocking on Teddys office to call off the match and beg for forgiveness, but he doesn’t open the door. Meanwhile, Vickie finds Chavo and asks for his help. He refuses to help her because she never had his back. He leaves, and Vickie is still frustrated.

(4) Big Show deeated Wade Barret by Count Out- Corre is banned from ringside. Corre comes out after the match, but runs off when Big Show grabs a steel chair to run them off. They had to retape this again which was funny. This time though Big Show gets to blast Justin Gabriel with the steel chair and Corre leaves to the back. Big Show gloats with the audience before he leaves.

(5) Main Event Mixed Tag Team Match – Vickie’s Career on the Line: Edge & Kelly Kelly defeated Drew McIntyre & Vickie Guerrero. Kelly hits Vickie with the spear and outside of the ring they go. Edge wins by pinfall with the spear. In the ring, Edge celebrates while Vickie is shown crying. Teddy comes out, and funny thing to note is that Edge is doing Teddy’s little dance that he does. Haha. Teddy fires her and all Vickie does is plead with Edge to forgive her and get her job back. She goes outside to beg the Referree, Booker T, Michael Cole, and even the Camera man. Edge insteads sings her a song, the “Na Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye song”. The crowd starts chanting and Edge celebrates afterwards. Suddenly, Alberto Del Rio shows up from the crowd and attacks Edge. He gets booed, but not as much heat as I thought he would.

*Spoilers!* WWE SD! results for Friday

*Rey Mysterio defeated Kane to open the show.

*Dusty Rhodes came to the ring and called out his son, Cody Rhodes. Dusty talked Cody into apologizing to Rey Mysterio. Dusty and Rey shook hands and then Dusty turned on Mysterio after the handshake. Cody then beat Rey down and took his mask, smashing Rey into the Titan Tron mirror that is used for his entrance.

*Dusty Rhodes and son Cody are backstage. Dusty said he would do anything for Cody. They celebrate.

*Rosa Mendes defeated Layla by DQ when Michelle McCool, who was on commentary, attacked Rosa Mendes. They teased more tension between LayCool.

*Jack Swagger defeated Kofi Kingston with the ankle lock. Said to be a good match.

*Vickie Guerrero was backstage trying to recruit Chavo Guerrero for help but he didn’t want any part of it.

*The Big Show defeated Wade Barrett by countout. The Corre was banned from ringside for this match. Post-match saw The Big Show attack Wade Barrett. He then went for a chokeslam but The Corre came out for the save. The Big Show chased them off with a steel chair to end the segment.

*Edge and Kelly Kelly defeated Vickie Guerrero and Drew McIntyre. Kelly Kelly speared Vickie and Edge speared McIntyre at the end of the match. Teddy Long came down to celebrate with Edge and Kelly Kelly. Vickie threw a fit while this was ongoing. She even asked Booker T for help at one point during her rage. Post-match saw Alberto Del Rio come down to attack Edge.

Jim Ross Blogs: Duggan-WWE, Lawler/Cole, WWE PG

Jim Ross has posted his latest blog entry. You can check it out at http://www.JRSBARBQ.com/ Check out the highlights:

On heading to Mexico: “I will be flying to Mexico City this week to take part in a major, groundbreaking, WWE news event on Thursday afternoon. I, along with others from WWE, will be at Vive Cuervo Salon in Mexico City for the 3:30 pm event. It’s FREE to the public but I suggest that if you are attending that you arrive early to secure your place in what promises to be a historic event for WWE in the tradition rich, grappling city of Mexico City. The doors open at 2 p.m. This will be my first ever trip to Mexico City and one of which I’m exited. I am honored that WWE has chosen me to be such a significant part of this function that is sure to make headlines in the sports entertainment world.”

On Jim Duggan getting into the Hall of Fame: “Congrats to Hacksaw Jim Duggan on the announcement that ‘Hack’ is going into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. The Glens Falls, New York native is one of the distinguished, Mid South Wrestling alums who learned his skills under the watchful and demanding eye of Cowboy Bill Watts. Jim became a huge star in Mid South before venturing ‘up north’ to take his skills to WWE. The former SMU Pony offensive lineman was one of the toughest men to ever lace his boots. After JYD departed Mid South, Duggan earned the role as the top fan favorite in the company. His rivalry with Ted ‘Million Dollar Man’ DiBiase in Mid South was big time and was highlighted by their infamous ‘Sharp Dressed Man’ tuxedo matches for the large Cowboy who loved physicality and true, reality based TV.”

On Lawler/Cole: “If Michael Cole accepts Jerry Lawler’s WM27 challenge and that is the WM match that King gets to have I know that Jerry will be MORE than pleased with it. Some have questioned if Jerry would truly enjoy stepping in the ring with Cole in Atlanta and on that one I can unequivocally say ‘Oh, Hell Yeah!’ Lawler deserves a match at Wrestlemania as much as any athlete on WWE’s roster in my biased opinion. Plus, if it happens, The King will beat Cole like a government mule. :) No…I don’t hate Michael Cole. I also don’t hate the screwdriver or hammer hanging in my garage which are also tools. ”

On the death of PG: “Can we stop with the TV14 questions? For some reason, folks think that because Rock and then John Cena got edgy with their in ring promos in recent RAWS that perhaps WWE is going back to a more risqué presentation ala a TV14 format. I don’t speak for WWE but going all the way back to TV14 would shock me. I’m not a guy who lives or dies by a TV rating but rather judges a wrestling, TV show by what I see in the ring headlined by high quality, physical wrestling action and not by the use of edgy language even though I do enjoy that too when effectively utilized. I will admit that in the past two weeks that I have been pleasantly surprised by some of the verbiage on MNR. I have grandkids and I would have had no issues with them watching Raw with me. ”

On the XFL: “The NFL did not want the XFL to succeed in my opinion. Why, is a question that I am unable to answer. The XFL was a spring football league that would have provided the NFL with some players, as they did in their only season of existence, for years to come and at affordable costs. NFL media sycophants loved to highlight what was wrong with the XFL but rarely were ballsy enough to point out that the XFL was providing football players with a way to return to the pro football radar. ”

On John Cena: “I loved John Cena’s return volley to the Rock on the Fresno Raw. Cena was in rare form. A face to face, verbal showdown between the two would be classic some day. Cena is quick and Rock perfected his ‘smack talking’ playing college football for ‘The U’ long known for their great players who were brash athletes who loved to talk trash. I’ve seen this first hand in recent years when OU played the ‘Canes. ”

A possible Rock-Cena match?, Cena trashes Miz + more!

Partial Source: The Wrestling Observer

Note from Joe: We are very happy that we have reached the 3,000 milestone from our visitors. Thanks again from all of you that made this possible and always for keeping this blog alive!

– John Cena tweeted the following last night following RAW: “CeNation. Handle bizz on sunday…check …let rock know im not a pushover…check…win tag titles…check…realize how much of a self centered egotistical rat bastard dowsh bag the miz is…..check. yer in my sights now kid. The world will soon know if u got it or u don’t. Other than that I had a blast tonight. Fresno was ON FIRE!”

– For those who have asked, there are no immediate plans for a Rock vs. Cena match despite their recent ‘war of words’. Of course, the door is always open for a ‘dream match’ between the two in the future but as of right now there are no plans to do so. However, The Rock is expected to be physically involved at WrestleMania in some capacity. We’ll keep you posted as we get more.

– California based independent wrestler “Big Nasty” Jason Watts is rumored to be a contestant for WWE Tough Enough.

More RAW notes from last night

A source sent the following in:

Last night’s RAW in Fresno, CA was great.

The arena was pretty much a sold out crowd.

Triple H’s return got the biggest pop of the night. Undertaker’s entrance was the only flaw I saw. He came out to early. I watched it when I got home. What you saw on there is what we saw.

I’m surprised by the John Cena promo at the start of the show. That was more of an. “Attitude Era” promo than “PG Era” promo. I’m also still surprised they are using the word “ass”. Cena had mix reaction from the crowd at the beginning of the show.

The crowd lost interest in the Miz/Cena vs. Corre match. I think it had to do with 3 heels & 1 face in the match. It was a huge surprise to see them win. When the match started, I looked at the time and knew something had to be wrong.

The Lawler & Cole interview was good. I did not expect Cole to bring Lawler’s mom into it. That got a lot of heat from the crowd.

Randy Orton got a huge pop before he made h is run in with Punk. Security was moving people out of the way when he came out and when Cole ran from Lawler neither had to jump the guard rail because they have it where could run through by where they keep the bell/time keeper.

All the matches were good. Good promos as well. Cena/Orton vs. Miz/Punk (Cole as ref) was a good dark match. I was wondering why Jerry and Josh stayed at the announcers table during the match. The reason was Jerry went into the ring and chased Cole out near the end. While Cole slipped away Jerry was able to pull the ref shirt off of Cole and while that was going on, in the ring Cena & Orton hit their finishers at the same time and did a double pin. The crowd left happy.

There were a few Punk chants where I was sitting (during his match on RAW). Kids, women and some guys loved Cena.

RAW notes and partial Superstars *Spoilers!*

Source: pwinsider.com

*Triple H received the biggest reaction of the night, even more than Undertaker, Randy Orton or John Cena.

*Undertaker missed his cue and came out before his music started, then had to return to the back.

*After Raw went to commercial during the staredown, Triple H exited the ring and posed on the ramp. He left and Taker followed, posing on the way out.

As we noted earlier on the blog, Triple H vs. The Undertaker is set for Wrestlemania with Streak vs. Career and Shawn Michaels as the referee has been discussed. There have been absolutely no talks between Sting and WWE.

*The dark match saw John Cena and Randy Orton defeat WWE champion The Miz and CM Punk in a match where Michael Cole was the guest referee. Jerry Lawler came out and chased away Cole, pulling off his referee’s shirt in the process. Lawler then became ref and the bout ended with Orton and Cena hitting their finishers, with Lawler counting the pin. Lots of people wondering where The Rock was tonight, by the way.

WWE Superstars:

*Santino Marella, with Tamina pinned Tyson Kidd.

*WWE United States champion Daniel Bryan defeated Ted DiBiase. During the match, Yoshi Tatsu came out and gave Maryse flowers. She took them, then hit DiBiase with them. Bryan used the LeBell Lock for the submission.

*The show is legit sold out.

With WWE set to announce 2011 Hall of Fame inductees beginning this week, several names are coming forth as people who are and may be inducted. Along with Shawn Michaels and “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan (the latter of whom was announced this week on RAW), Tammy Lynn Sytch (Sunny) is said to be a lock for this year’s class as we noted earlier.

Abdullah the Butcher and Bullet Bob Armstrong are also being mentioned, though Abdullah may be pushed off for next year since WrestleMania 28 will be in Miami and Abby was big in Florida.

The Rock News: John Cena is ready! & new look coming!

– The Rock recently noted on his Twitter account that he’ll be growing his hair long following WWE’s WrestleMania 27. This is due to his next movie role although we’re not sure which movie the longer hair will be for as he’s got several upcoming projects in the works.

– John Cena posted the following comments via Twitter this morning:
“CeNation. Handled business last night. Tonight I will see what we do about the rock. If he wants some…come get some.”

“This could be very interesting.”

“Ps..grabbed a spare steel chain and lock off the elimination chamber just in case…gotta go now. Big peek a boo tournament b4 raw :)”

That last tweet seems to indicate that he’ll be returning to his old ‘rapper’ gimmick. Of course, that is pure speculation but it should be noted that there was a CM Punk-John Cena rap battle during one of the commercial breaks at RAW two weeks ago. We posted the video here on the website.

Also, as of last week there were no plans for The Rock to appear on RAW tonight but they are in California so who knows.

Trish Stratus Speaks: Why she returned, Lay-Cool, & more!

WWE.com recently interviewed Trish Stratus, here are the highlights…

On Why She Returned: I’m joining Booker T as one of the Tough Enough trainers, so he asked me to come down to Elimination Chamber so he could make the announcement on live TV.

On Lay-Cool: Lay-Cool irks me a bit. They’ve been running their mouths off, so I thought I’d show them who’s “tough enough.” [laughs] There’s just a little rule to take away [from tonight's experience]: Whenever I come to a WWE event – although I am retired – I should always, always have my wrestling boots. When you wear heels and you try to be a Diva, it’s not a good thing, as we saw this evening when I tripped up ap a little bit. Hey, I’m retired. I tried to deliver some Stratusfaction, and I’m a little bit rusty.[laughs]

On Keeping Busy Away From Wrestling: I have been keeping busy. The latest thing that I’m very excited about is this action film I did, called Bail Enforcers. I was doing some stunts – I actually did all my own stunts, which was so much fun, I just had a blast doing it – and there’s a little “leak” of the footage on my website, so you can see a little snippet of the film there.

More on the WWE firings & Alex Riley's big mistake!

Partial Source: Pwinsider.com

Note from Joe: it was going to get insanely busy and man has it ever! We expect this to continue through WrestleMania so be sure to check back in often! We’re here all the time with the latest breaking news and rumors. Thanks for your continued support of the blog. CHECK BACK IN OFTEN!!!

– Alex Riley appeared alongside WWE Champion The Miz on Comcast Sports Net Saturday night and accidentally said the word ‘wrestling’ while discussing NXT. He quickly corrected himself. It sounds crazy but ‘wrestling’ is a major no-no when it comes to talking about WWE. ‘Sports Entertainment’ is the correct term that management insists their talent use.

– We can now confirm that WWE released developmental wrestlers Caylee Turner and Kevin Hackman last week. It’s being speculated that one or two additional developmental wrestlers were let go.
While reasons for their respective departures have yet to be disclosed, Turner’s is not considered a surprise among those in Florida Championship Wrestling. It’s said that she caused a great deal of drama during her time with the organization.

Turner is the younger sister of WWE Diva Alicia Fox while Hackman is a former collegiate football player.

WWE trends on Twitter, Bourne's return?

Partial Source: Pwinsider

– The term “EC,” for Elimination Chamber was trending for a while after last night’s PPV. Also, Drew McIntyre, Trish Stratus, LayCool, and even Fruity Pebbles were all trending on Twitter at one point.

– Evan Bourne is expected back on the main roster by the end of the month. Speaking of Bourne, he has been teasing a big announcement for Brazilian WWE fans for Wednesday. Of course, WWE is set to run events in Brazil in the near future so that’s likely it.

– Yesterday, about 500 fans turned out for Shawn Michaels’ autograph session at the 2011 ATA Trade Show in Dallas, TX. Michaels will also have an autograph signing on March 12th in Middletown, NY.

A source sent this one in: I attended the Jericho book signing at the Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe, AZ. I had to wait about two hours to meet Chris and get some autographs and picture. He also took time to answer a few questions like the secret to arm wrestling (which you’ll have to ask him) and some Fozzy questions. I guess they are already working on new songs for the next album. Jericho had a few 5 hour energy drinks and a red bull so I imagine his schedule is hectic. He is heading to Dallas, TX tonight. There were probably several hundred people at the signing. Jericho stayed until he had gotten to everyone. It was good having Jericho back in AZ again, since WM 26 last year.

Jim Ross Blogs: Trish's return, Del Rio's push, Morrison

Jim Ross has a new blog entry posted at http://www.JRSBARBQ.com/ Here are the highlights…

On Alberto Del Rio: Alberto Del Rio is evolving nicely. Love his cross arm breaker finisher. Del Rio gets into his finishing maneuver very cleverly. I’m buying Alberto Del Rio and feel that he will have a successful outing at WM27.

On The Smackdown Elimination Chamber: The Smackdown Elimination Chamber match was big league. One of the best PPV bouts I’ve seen in a long time especially one involving multiple participants. It earned a FULL bottle of sauce rating.

On Trish Stratus: Another Canadian import made her return as well as Trish Stratus had an enhanced , surprise cameo on the PPV. The brunette Trish is just as lovely as the blond Trish. Good to hear that she’s going to be a Tough Enough trainer. I’m watching.

On John Morrison: Big night for John Morrison. Morrison’s efforts were akin to some memorable, break out performances athletes have made in, particularly, Royal Rumble bouts of the past. Wasn’t sure if Morrison was being referred to as parkour or hardcore or both but he’s a spectacular athlete who positively distinguished himself Sunday night. Morrison maximized his minutes in the Elimination Chamber.

On CM Punk: It sounded like there were lots of cheers for CM Punk. Was it fans being defiant, fans who simply like the villains, or fans who appreciate Punk’s skill level? What ever the reason, Punk felt like a star inside the Raw Elimination Chamber.

Was there talk of Jerry Lawler winning the title?

Source: The Wrestling Observer

As most of you know by now, The Miz successfully defended his WWE title last night at the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. According to sources, there was talk over the past week or so in WWE creative meetings to have Jerry Lawler win the title at the PPV and then lose it back to The Miz on RAW tonight. Obviously, that didn’t happen.

One of the reasons why WWE opted not to put the title on Lawler for one night is due to the fact that Vince McMahon feels The Miz is still being established as a ‘credible’ champion and having him lose the title would be a blow to his current momentum.

Jim Ross tweeted the following on the Lawler-Miz match from the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view:
“Just talked to King & he’s disappointed in outcome of his bout w/ Miz. Felt as if he let his late Mom & friends down. Makes Raw compelling.”

Y2J "Shocking" Announcement leaked? + Christian's return!

– Last week we reported that Chris Jericho’s long-time friend and radio host Eddie Trunk revealed that Chris would be making a ‘shocking’ announcement shortly. In an update on this, we’ve learned that Jericho is being considered for a role on the next season of Dancing With The Stars on ABC. We don’t have this confirmed just yet though. The complete cast of Season 12 is set to be announced on February 28th. The first shows will begin airing in March. If this is true, it would obviously rule out a Chris Jericho WWE return until late Summer.

– Edge is the first WWE champion in five years to successfully defend his title in an Elimination Chamber match. Joey Styles confirmed this on his Twitter account.

– Christian tweeted the following last night following the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view: “So Oakland was fun!!… I was in the area so I decided 2 stop in & say hello.” Christian is said to still be months away from an in-ring return. He’s been doing physical rehab on a torn pectoral muscle.

RAW Preview: "Why 2-21-11", 'Taker's return, Danial Bryan

Side Note from Joe: We've got a ton of news coming for tonight's RAW and various other stuff. Also I've got a big announcement that I will announce soon....so stay tuned!

– WWE RAW tapes tonight in Fresno, California at the Save Mart Center.

– Several cable guides are listing the title for tonight’s RAW as “Why 2-21-11?”. As we’ve been reporting, this will be the return of The Undertaker tonight.

– The Save Mart Center website has also been advertising “The Return of The Undertaker.”

– WWE has scheduled a Daniel Bryan autograph session at the venue this afternoon for ticketholders.

– John Cena and Randy Orton vs. The Miz and CM Punk, with Michael Cole as referee, is the scheduled RAW dark match main event.

The Coach/Vince McMahon relationship, Trish photos, Lilian

– Former WWE commentator and announcer Jonathan Coachman recently did an interview with As The World Turns Left. He spoke about what it was like to work for Vince McMahon: “There were times, especially when I started doing the bigger shows, where I — you know, he’s a perfectionist, he built it from the ground up, I respected him and still do to this day — and because of the way he was, so hard, so difficult, I got to the point where I could almost repeat in within a quarter or half a second what he was telling me. We got that much in synch. It’s difficult. There were times when I’d leave a show, and literally, I don’t know what a migraine headache is, but I think that’s what I had. Your head is really pounding, and it feels like it’s just going to explode after asking your brain to shape everything perfectly for two hours. So, did I enjoy it all the time? No. Did it make me mentally, incredibly strong? Absolutely. And I always said this the last two or three years I was there: No matter who I work for when I leave here, it’ll be like working for Mister Rogers compared to working for him. And I mean that in a good way. We left on the best of terms, and I still go and see everybody when they’re around, in Hartford or Springfield or Bridgeport. And we get along great. So, it was a great time for me. Anybody that complains isn’t mentally tough, and I don’t want to hear it. I hate people that leave and then bash him, bash the company and say what a horrible guy he is, because he’s not. He just asks a lot. And you’ve got a bring a lot, that’s it.”

– Lilian Garcia tweeted that she’s finished pre-production work on her next album. She’ll begin recording the album later this week in Miami, FL.

– Shawn “HBK” Michaels will be appearing at the Detroit Autorama in Detroit, Michigan on February 27th. The event takes place from 1-4pm.

– Trish Stratus shot some new photos for WWE.com backstage at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. Expect the photos to appear on WWE’s website later this week.

Backstage visitors at Elimination Chamber, Trish's return!

– Christian and Goldust, both currently nursing injuries, were backstage at the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. UPDATE: Christian returned at the event following the SmackDown! Elimination Chamber match. He made the save for Edge, who was being attacked after the match by Alberto Del Rio.

– At Sunday night’s WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, Booker T introduced Trish Stratus as a trainer for WWE’s Tough Enough. Wearing heels, she came to the aid of the rehired Kelly Kelly, fending off Michelle McCool and Layla. The multi-time champion took to Twitter to comment on her return.

“Wow good to be back in front of a live ppv crowd & the @wweuniverse! What did u think of my new catchphase?” She later added, “Note to self: always pack wrestling boots when u go to a WWE event-cause u just never know.”

The term “Trish Stratus” continued to trend worldwide on Twitter following the pay-per-view event.

Another WWE release & fired WWE referee re-hired!

Partial Source: Pwinsider.com

– WWE developmental wrestler Kevin Hackman was removed last week from the Florida Championship Wrestling’s website roster page, which would indicate that he has parted ways with World Wrestling Entertainment. Hackman, who’s real name is Andrew Leavine, is a former Florida International University offensive lineman WWE signed last summer to a developmental contract.

– WWE has apparently rehired referee Scott Armstrong, who was released last February. The son of wrestling legend “Bullet” Bob Armstrongs wrote on Twitter that he was blessed with Michelle McCool responding that she was happy for him as he gets to be with her again.

– Natalya indicated on her Twitter account that she is training for a marathon.

Big title matches confirmed for WrestleMania 27!

– John Cena prevailed over Randy Orton, CM Punk, John Morrison, R-Truth and Sheamus in RAW’s Elimination Chamber Match at Elimination Chamber, pinning The Straight Edge Superstar. He is set for a WWE Championship Match at WrestleMania XXVII against The Miz, who retained his title against Jerry Lawler.

Earlier in the show, Edge retained the World Heavyweight Championship in the SmackDown! Elimination Chamber Match, outlasting Big Show, Rey Mysterio, Kane, Wade Barrett and Drew McIntyre. His triumph in the Elimination Chamber solidified his main event match with 2011 Royal Rumble winner Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania.

WWE Championship Match
The Miz (c) vs. John Cena

World Heavyweight Championship Match
Edge (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio

– As noted earlier, WWE United States Champion Daniel Bryan beat Ted DiBiase (accompanied by Maryse) in a dark match prior to tonight’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

Another successful WWE PPV last night!

I would like to thank everyone who watched the WWE Elimination Chamber PPV last night, we had a ton of people watching and thanks to you for making it successful. There were some technical difficulties at one point but I posted a second stream that worked through the rest of the night.

SD! Security revealed, ex-WWE talents free to join TNA

– Independent talents Joey Ryan and Orion were used as fake security Friday night on SmackDown!.

– Former WWE stars Jillian Hall, Tiffany, Shad Gaspard, Vance Archer, Luke Gallows and Caylen Croft are now free to join TNA Wrestling as their respective ninety-day no-compete clauses with World Wrestling Entertainment expired late last week. All six were released on November 19, 2010. The clause prohibits dismissed talent from appearing for wrestling promotions with national television outlets for ninety days.

Update on Triple H's return! possible *Spoiler!*

According to a source from the Austin, Texas airport, The Undertaker was seen there.

Of course, he will be part of the 2-21-11 RAW tomorrow night, as previously reported.

Also, there is an article on Triple H in the new issue of Muscle & Fitness magazine. He discusses how his training has changed, and much more. The pictures are reported to reveal him in great shape but much smaller. The word is he might return to RAW tomorrow along with The Undertaker. H’s return is imminent.

Wrold title vs. IC title match talked about - changes?

Partial Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

– Corresponding with the on-screen dismissal of Dolph Ziggler from WWE, his profile was removed from the company website’s SmackDown! Superstars section. However, it was not deleted off the site as it’s now available in the Alumni section.

– Tonight’s Alberto Del Rio vs. Kofi Kingston match at Elimination Chamber is a non-title affair as of now. The title may still be up for grabs as there was talk of Edge’s bout with Del Rio at WrestleMania XXVII being a World Heavyweight Championship vs. Intercontinental Championship Match. We shall see.

An interesting WWE PPV fact!

Tonight’s WWE Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View will be the first WWE Pay-Per-View in over two years that does not have John Cena or Randy Orton involved in a title match. The last time the company had a Pay-Per-View that fit that criteria was Cyber Sunday on October 26th, 2008, which had neither Cena nor Orton on the card.

The last PPV that both Cena and Orton were on but didn’t involve them in title matches was Survivor Series 2006, though both men were in Survivor Series-style matches and Cena was WWE Champion. The last PPV that had both of them in non-championship singles matches was Vengeance 2006 on June 25th, 2006.

Randy Orton gets 'Ding-Dong Ditched'!

Randy Orton posted the following on his Twitter, asking wrestling fans to identify someone that decided it would be funny to ring his doorbell and then run off.

“A kid just rang our door bell and ran. He jumped in a white car. Unfortunately for him, I have 8 cameras covering every angle of my home…Anyone identify him and u get tickets to RAW in Stl 3/14. Here’s another pic:”

You can click here to view a security camera photo of the guy who rang his doorbell and ran off. He’s screwed!

Jim Ross Blogs...again: SD! going Live, TNA, WWE PPV

Jim Ross has posted yet another new blog (he’s on a roll this weekend!). Here are the highlights…

On Smackdown Going Live: No…I don’t ever see Friday Night Smackdown going live, full time IE weekly. It might happen occasionally but it isn’t cost effective or travel friendly to do live TV on Mondays, Fridays, and some Sundays and still try to do live event touring. Makes no sense.

On The WWE All Star Video game: Yes…all the perceived top, current WWE superstars are playable characters in the new, WWE All Star video game which will be released soon. While doing the voice over play by play for the new game it brought to mind how many different scenarios one could play especially with ‘Dream Matches’ that never occurred. I am extremely optimistic that this game will be a hit.

On Sunday’s PPV: I’m anxiously looking forward to Sunday’s Elimination Chamber PPV from WWE that emanates from Oakland. Obviously, and based on precedent, the Chamber bouts will occupy the majority of the ring time on this event but my focus is on the King vs. Miz bout for the WWE Title. Miz will likely see every trick in the wrestler’s handbook in this one and I don’t expect this title bout to be a marathon. It can’t be a marathon bout if The King Jerry Lawler wants to win the WWE Title IMO. The 61 year old WWE HOF’er, who buried his 90 year old mother on Wednesday, needs to essentially tell us what time it is and not how to make the watch when Jerry looks to make history. Not only would Jerry be the oldest WWE Champion ever, or so I think, he would also be in rarefied air as a WWE Hall of Famer who wins the title after being inducted into the WWE HOF.

On TNA Wrestling: An emailer asked me what I thought about recent TNA storylines involving Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Jarrett and their children. I’m not a regular viewer of TNA first of all but what I have seen of this storyline that’s allegedly based in reality isn’t my cup of tea. I could care less what the adults do in their storyline but having minor children involved doesn’t personally work for me. TNA isn’t my hill to die upon and I harbor no ill will toward them but I find it challenging to believe that some individuals actually think that this is effective, episodic TV. Lastly, I’m sure that no one at TNA cares what I think, nor should they, but I’m merely addressing a question from one of our regular emailers. However, as Pink Floyd sang “Leave them kids alone.”

Former WWE talent punches a fan & Y2J's "shocking" announcement

– Thanks for your continued support of the blog guys. Our traffic is high these days as we head towards WrestleMania 27. We’ve got the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view on Sunday night (FREE STREAM!) and then it gets crazy busy as we head into and after WrestleMania. Stay tuned to the website and check back in often on a daily basis. We expect news to really pick up in the coming weeks. You’ll want to check back often! Thanks again for your continued support guys – we appreciate every single one of you!

– Former WWE talent Colin Delaney reportedly punched a fan in the face following his match last night at an independent wrestling show in Binghamton, New York. The fan, who is said to be in his early twenties, was berating Delaney during his match. He reportedly spit water in the fan’s face during the match and subsequently punched him after the fan retaliated with spit.

– Radio personality Eddie Trunk, a friend of Chris Jericho’s, indicated that the multi-time wrestling champion’s next career move will be shocking.
“Congrats to my bud and what he will be announcing he is doing next will be a shocker,” said Trunk. “I’ll leave it at that.”

John Cena-The Rock confrontation

John Cena commented on The Rock today on Twitter, writing: “All week u guys are asking me bout the rock. I was gonna let him slide. But now I don’t know? What u guys think?” Following fan response, he wrote, “Holy response! Well then. Looks like this will be another very memorable week in the wwe.”

Backstage Update: The Rock's "secret" WWE return!

Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

As we exclusively reported last week here on the website, WWE went to great lengths to keep the return of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson a secret.

The WWE production staff had been told all week long that the guest host was Justin Bieber. Others in WWE creative were told it was Bob Barker. The script for RAW last week called for a “Leave it to Bieber” segment. That’s what the WWE production team was told to come up with and did.

As everyone knows, Johnson wound up doing the total opposite as he teased a return on Facebook and then later launched an official Twitter account. About an hour before RAW went live, he posted a photo of himself filming a WWE promo backstage.

Johnson was also kept in a secluded dressing room backstage until his segment began. He also arrived to the building late in the evening.

Updated WWE Elimination Chamber Card

Here is the updated WWE Elimination Chamber PPV card:

* Kofi Kingston vs. Alberto Del Rio
* WWE Tag Team Title Match: Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov © vs. Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel
* WWE SmackDown! Elimination Chamber World Title Match: Edge © vs. Kane vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Wade Barrett vs. Rey Mysterio vs. ???

Dolph Ziggler continues to sell SD! firing angle

Dolph Ziggler, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, is selling his kayfabe firing from SmackDown! on his Twitter.

Here is the full rant:

First of all, I can’t believe that I got to live my dream for this many years and actually come to do it pretty damn well! Even though I used to caddy around and actually went through a rigorous gymnastics and cheerleader training I thought we made it work! I got to make a lot of friends and a couple of enemies, but no matter what, every time I stepped through that curtain, especially these Last 2 years, I felt like a champion, I lived to go to work each day and try to steal the show like no one else could!

No matter what happens in the coming weeks and months, I appreciate the fact that my hard work and countless hours studying and learning Paid off! I was in the world title picture as a legitimate threat, and appreciate that I got that chance! Most don’t!

I hope this youth movement continues, and I hope its just not to build young guys up and have the mainstays dominate and not pass the torch There is a ton of hungry young talents and they LOVE their jobs, just like I and did! Hopefully they get their chance!

I hope to see zack ryder, trent barretta, curt hawkins and some others get their chance, bc they love what they do, and remind me of why I got into this business! Hopefully Wrestlemania will not be a look back into the attitude era an have all the young guys watching backstage I love the wrestling business, and maybe its time to take that next step into the danger zone, brazzers are u hiring??? Haha

I’m sure the door is always open, and I know I busted my ass every damn day I worked for this company, and no matter how doughy and truly Annoying the miz is, he’s obviously onto something (2,000 tries later)! Daniel bryan couldn’t draw a dollar with a green crayon! I love Hating on him! He got carried to one of (actually THE best match of the year) and john morrison is nothing but a pretty boy doing ballet I will see all of u again, SOMEWHERE! And now its time to make an impact and spike someone else’s ratings! U know me, I’d rather be in Dixie

Thank you dolphans for ur support! And know I loved pissing everyone off and stealing their show! I will truly miss this more than anything!

Of course, this is all a storyline angle.

Jim Ross Blogs: Lawler vs. Miz, Y2J-WWE, Taz, & more!

Jim Ross has finished a new blog over at http://www.JRSBARBQ.com, where he once again discusses a variety of topics.

On Chris Jericho’s First WWE Run: “Chris was very close to being shown the exit during his initial WWE tenure which would not have bode well for yours truly who pushed harder than anyone to sign the then underutilized WCW talent. Jerry Brisco and I met with Chris on a ‘recruiting trip’ in the Tampa area at a place called the Bombay Bicycle Club for lunch and that meeting helped move our negotiations along. Jericho was a great ‘get’ for WWE and made my department look good with the inking of his contract.”

On Taz’s Finishing Dojo: “For you wrestlers who have some experience but want to get to the next level before your personal expiration date arrives then check out http://www.teamtaz13.com. Taz is training wrestlers with experience and his website has all the info. All I can say is that Taz is a natural born coach, Taz will not hose any student out of their hard earned cash, and every wrestler that attends Taz’ ‘finishing school’ will be better prepared than they ever dreamed of becoming to perhaps go from the Indies to full time work.”

On The Miz vs Jerry Lawler at Elimination Chamber: “Any one who thinks that it’s simply not possible for Jerry Lawler, at age 61 and on a week where he buried his 90 year old mother, to win the WWE title against the Miz this Sunday at the Elimination Chamber needs to rethink their position. It is possible and it damn well could happen. I agree that the King is the underdog going in but what a story for the ages it would make if the WWE HOF’er did win the title. I’m not saying bet the farm on it but IF Jerry Lawler were to somehow, by hook or crook, defeat the Miz Sunday it would be one of the hottest topics around the WWE water cooler in years. I admit that I legitimately have an emotional investment in this one because of my friendship with Jerry and after seeing first hand what he went through this week. ”

WWE's April UK Tour main events - possible spoilers!

Note from Joe T.: Today has been kind of slow and there isn't much news from my sources. So we'll see later on tonight and tomorrow prior to EC ppv.

*John Cena vs. The Miz for the WWE Championship

Names considered for Tough Enough

Out of all the names that were in the running for this upcoming season of Tough Enough, there were some independent wrestlers that were considered. These included Austin Aries, Mercedes Martinez, Joey Ryan and Brittney Savage.

JR Blogs: The Rock's future, Lawler's title match, Y2J

Jim Ross has posted his latest blog entry. Check out the highlights:

On attending the funeral of Jerry Lawler’s mother: “I enjoyed my short visit with Jerry Lawler, his family and friends in Memphis this week as Jerry’s 90 year old mother, Hazel, was laid to rest on Wednesday morning. Mrs. Lawler was a truly wonderful lady who was full of life and personality. I stayed at King’s house on Tuesday night and we sat outside and visited for hours until finally calling it a day about 2 a.m. Laughter was no stranger to the two of us even under the circumstances of the visit.”

On Jerry Lawler’s WWE Title Match at Elimination Chamber: “Jerry is genuinely excited about being in the main event of a WWE PPV which will be this Sunday in Oakland at the Elimination Chamber vs. the Miz for the WWE Title. I would not miss this PPV for the world because I believe that shocks and surprises from WWE will abound over the next few weeks leading into WM27 and no one can argue that Jerry Lawler upsetting Miz to win the WWE title wouldn’t be a HUGE shocker.”

On his upcoming appearances: “Confirmed this week that I will be appearing on Saturday May 7 at the Legends of the Ring function in Monroe, N.J. at the Crowne Plaza hotel.”
On the WWE All Stars game: “The new, THQ produced WWE All Star Video game is getting more and more play as the anticipation builds to it’s release the Tuesday of WM27 week. There will be a tie in with JR’s Family BBQ on this exciting new game so please watch for details.”

On whether we will see Rock wrestle at Wrestlemania 27: “Emailers…of which there have many many…Why is it that so many people think that it’s going to be Rock vs. Cena at WM27 in a wrestling match? Rock has said publically that his in ring wrestling days are history. End of story. It was made clear Monday night that Rock was going to HOST Wrestlemania. Is it possible to see some sort of physical interaction in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome between ‘the Great One’ and Cena? Of course, any thing is possible….except Rock wrestling in an official match but that doesn’t mean that the potential for physicality doesn’t exist.”

On Chris Jericho’s new autobiography and media appearances: “Chris Jericho is pounding the pavement promoting his new book ‘Undisputed’ which I finished last week and now my wife is reading. She’s enjoying it too and, as I mentioned last week, I STRONGLY urge you to buy Chris’ latest but only if you want a candid, honest look behind the scenes at the challenging, frustrating albeit rewarding and crazy life of a big time WWE star. The Undertaker is advertised for this Monday’s 2/21/11 RAW in Fresno, California.

– According to sources, absolutely nothing new has transpired since last week concerning Steve “Sting” Borden joining WWE. Sorry Sting marks!

Triple H Speaks out on new movie & more!

Triple H recently discussed The Chaperone, here are the highlights…

On Him Taking Such A Long Break Between Movies: Yeah, for me, I dug what I was doing, do you know what I mean? And that was the thing for me. When “Blade” came along and I did “Blade,” it was fun to do and all that, but I was a WWE star and that’s what I wanted to be doing, and that’s what I had in my head. I got offered a few other things, and if it would have been something great I suppose, I might have jumped on it, but it wasn’t something where I thought it was worth taking time away from this. I’m at a different point now, I’m at point of my career where I’m 41 years old, which from a WWE wrestling standpoint is a young man’s business. I’m not saying I’m done, but it’s not what I’m going to be doing full-time every day for the next ten years. It was the time for me to do it and it was a different challenge for me, I enjoyed it.

On Getting The Script: I’m not sure how they acquired the script–but they sent a copy of the script to me and I thought it was good, I enjoyed it. It obviously needed some changes or whatever but I enjoyed the script. I thought the story was good, and I thought that it had a good feel to it, a good heart, and the character was good, so I told them I was interested in doing it when the time was right. We just kind of slotted it into production. I did another film for them also, which I was never scheduled to do, but one of the guys they were going to do it with we had contractual issues with and he left and Vince asked me to do it, so I stepped in and I did that one also. “The Chaperone” I was always supposed to do, and I just liked it because it was a different challenge. It was a character that I got to be a little funny at times, serious at times, emotional at times, so it was a different challenge for me. It’s easy for us to go out there, we can all do action pretty well, and I think that’s the standard of what everybody thinks they’re going to get out of us. To be able to do something else, not just from a fan’s standpoint, but from a challenge standpoint. I’d like to do things that aren’t just me being Triple H but with a different name.

On Parents Being Able To Bring Their Kids To The Movie: I mean, I hope they will. I guess to me there was a point in time when Arnold (Schwarzenegger) was making movies where he slaughtered hundreds of people per scene, and then he made “Kindergarten Cop,” but people kind of went with it. I’m hoping that’s what they’ll see. The thing that’s difficult for us is I think they think they see Triple H of the WWE and they think that’s all we are, because it’s the character they see us as the most and we get typecast in that role. But it’s really a character I play, no different than Ray Bradstone in “The Chaperone” is. It’s a character that you portray in a show, but not everybody, but there’s a lot of guys that are very talented in the WWE that can do other things than just what we do, too.

On His Next Film: Yeah, I mean, we shot in five weeks. One of the things that WWE Studios do, we shoot movies back-to-back in the same location. We shot four films in New Orleans, all back-to-back, so we save a ton of money on releasing the crew, then starting with a new crew. Basically, we would shoot a film five, six weeks, take a week off or so, and then they go right into the next film with the same crews, and all that changes out is the cast and the directors and stuff like that. Everything else kind of stays the same, so by the time we got to doing “The Chaperone,” these people had all worked together for probably the better part of a year. So it was a very family environment, which is kinda what the WWE is anyway, so it really kinda worked.

Michelle McCool injury update, Y2J draws a crowd, Yang

– Former WWE star Jimmy Wang Yang is participating in the Extreme Wrestling Federation’s X8 Tournament on Saturday, March 12 in Converse, Indiana at the Borderman Gym. He will also host a wrestling seminar that day from 3 to 5 p.m.

– On Tuesday, Chris Jericho did a book signing at Bookends in Ridgewood, NJ. The signing drew a huge crowd, and the store sold out of books an hour before the signing was set to begin. In order to make it up to fans that were unable to get a book signed, Jericho remained and signed stickers that will be placed into copies of the book when it comes back into stock.

– Michelle McCool wore a cast on her right foot at Tuesday’s SmackDown! taping in San Diego, California. She reportedly suffered a broken toe.

The SmackDown! Diva commented on her injury yesterday on Twitter, indicating that Layla was the cause. She wrote: “Yes its true…@mslayel has a hard head! Broken toe, torn mcl in foot, torn joint capsule & swelling in bone! Still luv her….. Luckily I’m as talented on 1 foot as most are on 2!”

So anyway, there will be more articles in that widget incase I don't post them normally like this. These articles will consist of wrestler interviews, injury updates, wwe tv ratings, etc. Thank you all for visiting my blog and supporting me, its you guys that keep this blog running and making it better!

*Spoilers!* WWE SD! Results for Friday

Source: Prowrestling.net

1. John Cena, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, Edge, John Morrison, and R-Truth defeated Kane, C.M. Punk, King Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, Wade Barrett, and Drew McIntyre. After they all took turns hitting finishers, Rey hit a double 619 on Dolph and Barrett, then Edge speared Dolph for the pin.

As Edge celebrated, Vickie Guerrero came out to major heat. She said Edge assaulted Teddy Long, she can prove it, and he’s fired. The coronation of Dolph will be later tonight. Edge slowly left to cheers to stay.

2. Maryse and Layla beat Eve and Beth Phoenix. Michelle McCool came out with Layla to do commentary, but she looked like she was limping. She’s definitely hurt, as she has a cast on her right foot. Michelle interfered and sold it as if she injured her foot, but she was definitely already wearing a cast and limping beforehand.

3. The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston is in progress. Alberto Del Rio came out and distracted Kofi by whipping him with his scarf. Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale and got the pin.

A graphic noted that Smackdown will pass Gunsmoke after 34 more episodes. It will be second on the list behind only Raw.

4. Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov defeated Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater by DQ to retain the WWE Tag Titles. The Corre members were DQ’d after the other members of the group interfered when Santino hit The Cobra on Gabriel. Big Show came out and saved the tag champs.

The Dolph Ziggler coronation angle is up next. As expected, Teddy Long returned. He opted to give Dolph the World Hvt. Championship, but he booked an immediate title match between Dolph and Edge.

5. Dolph Ziggler vs. Edge for the World Hvt. Championship. Technically, Edge became the “new” World Hvt. Champion. After the match, Teddy fired Dolph, meaning there’s an opening in the Elimination Chamber match. Edge dropped confetti while the live crowd sang goodbye to Dolph. End show.

Backstage Update: The Rock return kept secret and more!

It has been noted earlier the blog that The Rock’s WWE return was kept a secret from nearly everyone within WWE. WWE senior management members were led to believe through the course of the week that Bob Barker would be the host. This was obviously a plant in order to keep the return a secret.

The Rock arrived to the arena late during the evening yesterday. He was kept in a secluded dressing room until his return to TV.

Original plans called for Vince McMahon to appear on the show to announce the WrestleMania guest host. They even plugged it last week. Also, The Rock was not scheduled to appear on RAW so something changed over the weekend.

On what he missed about WWE: “The thing I’ve missed most is the indescribible moment that was tonight. The culmination of the fans, their energy, my energy, my desire to entertain them and their endless desire to be entertained. ”

On his goals for WrestleMania 27: “My goal is to create an incredible show. The guys have prepared for this night all year and they are going to put on incredible wrestling matches and I am there to not only support their matches but work with the great WWE production team and put on an electrifying show. That means I will be backstage and in the ring creating unforgettable and iconic WrestleMania moments. ”

On his favorite WrestleMania memories: “My favorite WrestleMania matches of all time were Icon vs. Icon in Toronto vs. Hulk Hogan and vs. Steve Austin in the Houston Astrodome. Both of those matches will go down as two of most memorable. I had the honor of working with two titans of WWE. ”

On John Cena: “John Cena said a variety of things that came across my desk which at first I thought was interesting and then I felt was laughable because the comments really didn’t make any sense to me. To be clear, not that they ever make me mad. I just thought the comments were an interesting choice of things to say. ”

On Social Media: ” The platforms of social media are fantastic. I started facebook seven months ago and I started twitter tonight. The facebook platform is one I’m very proud of because it has been inspiring, funny, entertaining and motivating. Kelly Kelly's ultimate WWE dream goal, SD!, & more!

WWE SmackDown! Diva Kelly Kelly commented on main eventing a recent episode of WWE SmackDown!, where she teamed with Edge to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Dolph Ziggler and Lay-Cool.

“I think the match we just had is one of the first main events the girls have been a part of, probably within the last 10 years,” Kelly told the Miami Herald.

“So it was really cool to do that and finally have a main event match and be at the beginning of the show with [acting WWE SmackDown GM] Vickie [Guerrero]. They put a lot of effort into me and my character lately. It has been great. I hope they continue to spotlight the divas more.”

The Jacksonville native says she has her sights set on winning the Divas Championship upon her return.

“I hope to win a championship because I have never had a title,” Kelly said. “That would be a dream of a lifetime.”

Kelly also discussed her early days with WWE. Though her stunning looks landed her a spot with the organization, her strong work ethic earned her the respect of her peers.

“When I started in ECW, I would have to say Tommy Dreamer and Andrew [Test Martin], who is not alive anymore, have helped me out,” Kelly said.

“On the diva side, I would say Michelle McCool has helped me out a lot as well. They took me under their wings.”

Vickie Guerrero's daughter debuts & Bourne's WWE return?

Partial Source: Pwinsider.com

– Evan Bourne noted on his twitter that he will be going to Brazil shortly to do PR work, and also that WWE will be doing tours there soon. Bourne is still around 4-6 weeks away from returning to the ring.

– Vickie Guerrero made the following comment about her daughter’s first match in FCW: “Last night while watching my daughter wrestle..I saw Eddie”s walk and his eyes shine thru my daughter…I’m blessed.” Ricardo Rodriguez (Alberto Del Rio’s ring announcer) also tweeted: “Eddie Guerrero’s daughter, Shaul, had her first match last night in Gainsville, Florida… She did a helluva job! Bright future.”

Major SD! angle - Is Edge still the world champion?

The WWE website is questioning whether Edge is still the World Heavyweight Champion following last night’s episode of SmackDown!.

The “Rated R Superstar” retained the belt over Dolph Ziggler after Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews replaced Vickie Guerrero as the bout’s Special Guest Referee and made the three-count.

WWE.com published an article concerning Matthews’ involvement with the match, which teases controversy.

“And although Matthews wouldn’t divulge who gave him the authority to be a WWE Official, the WWE Universe is left to wonder if Edge is still the World Heavyweight Champion and if Matthews’ power as a WWE Official ultimately supersedes that of an angry “acting” SmackDown General Manager in Vickie Guerrero.”

The match featured a stipulation where Ziggler would automatically become the new World Heavyweight Champion if Edge attempted to use the Spear against his opponent. Edge hit the banned Spear on Ziggler two separate times during the closing moments of the match.

Huge SD! main event for next week!

Next week’s episode of WWE SmackDown!, which is being billed as the 600th, will feature a 12-Man Tag Team Match pitting the competitors of both Elimination Chamber Matches at Elimination Chamber.

World Heavyweight Champion Edge, John Cena, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, John Morrison and R-Truth will take on Dolph Ziggler, CM Punk, King Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Drew McIntyre and Kane.

Video: Del Rio speaks

– Check out this out of character interview with Alberto Del Rio:

Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

With The Undertaker scheduled to return to WWE on the 2/21/11 edition of RAW (the night after the Elimination Chamber PPV), speculation has been growing as to who he’ll face at WrestleMania 27. ‘Taker has been doing a lot of rehab on his surgically repaired shoulder in recent months. WWE is also confident he’ll be able to work a match at ‘Mania.

According to sources, several ideas for The Undertaker’s role at WrestleMania have been scrapped. First and foremost, he’s no longer expected to face Wade Barrett although that could change. The storyline does make sense as Barrett was the leader of Nexus when they destroyed ‘Taker and put him out of action at the Survivor Series PPV. Also, Sting has not signed a WWE deal and Brock Lesnar was not given permission by the UFC to take part in the event. Neither of them are likely to be at WrestleMania.

One idea that has been thrown out includes some sort of match with Triple H, who is set to return in the coming weeks. As reported last month, this idea has been on the cards for some time now, but seems to have been forgotten by many. We can report that last week at the TV tapings, WWE creative discussed Triple H vs. The Undertaker in a Career vs. Streak match. Shawn Michaels would serve as the special guest referee. Keep in mind that original plans called for Triple H to face Shemus at the pay-per-view.
Word is that WWE also wants to involve Shawn Michaels in some capacity, probably as a special guest referee as noted above. Shawn will not be working another match for WWE.

We hope to have much more on this early next week. Please stay tuned to the site for that report.

Backstage update on Triple H's return!

– Triple H is tapped to return to the squared circle within the next few weeks and considered a lock for WrestleMania XXVII.

His return is being delayed now because creative has no plans for him to win an Elimination Chamber Match and thus felt there was no point in bringing him back.

Regarding his behind the scenes role as Vince McMahon’s Senior Advisor, he has been diligently studying all aspects of World Wrestling Entertainment’s business operations. He’s received much praise for his dedication to learn.
