On Friday’s SmackDown broadcast (taped Wednesday in Corpus Christi, Texas), Rob Van Dam lost in under a minute to Alberto Del Rio after the ECW Original was distracted by the match official, leading the World Heavyweight Champion to strike him with brutal kick to the face. The reason for the match outcome was because Del Rio had broken a rib or ribs the night before in a match against Sheamus and was therefore unable to properly compete.

Brodus Clay/WWE?, TLC possible *Spoiler!* matches
– Brodus Clay did not return on RAW and there was no vignette this week. We hope to have more shortly.
– CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio for the WWE Title and Triple H vs. Kevin Nash are both scheduled for WWE’s TLC pay-per-view.
As of this writing, there is no word on the stipulations for those matches.

Triple H is out 6 weeks & original Rock/Cena plans
– WWE’s website has posted a storyline update on Triple H following the attack from Kevin Nash on last night’s RAW Supershow. They report that the WWE COO has suffered fractured vertebrae in his neck. The doctor adds that Triple H will be out of action for at least six weeks.
– In addition to The Rock and John Cena vs. The Miz and R-Truth, CM Punk vs. WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio – Kevin Nash vs. Triple H in some sort of gimmick match is planned for WWE’s Survivor Series pay-per-view.
– As noted earlier today, WWE changed plans with The Rock and John Cena at Survivor Series as they originally had a traditional Survivor Series match planned with the two on the same team. That was changed to The Rock and John Cena vs. The Miz and R-Truth in part because officials felt that putting Rock and Cena in a traditional 5-on-5 match would take too much attention off them going into their WrestleMania 28 match.

John Cena's new ring gear, The Rock on RAW next week?
– As seen at WWE’s Vengeance pay-per-view last night, John Cena debuted his new “Rise Above Hate” shirt and did away with the “jorts” jean shorts he always wears. WWE’s shop website has the t-shirts up for sale in adult, women and youth sizes plus sweatbands, a pendant and a baseball cap to fit Cena’s new theme. Cena wrestled in a pair of camouflage shorts last night.
Cena told fans on Twitter a few months back that he was considering changing his look up a bit. However, it’s said that last night’s change, besides the Rise Above Hate shirt, wasn’t permanent and Cena was just wearing the camo shorts to pay tribute to the troops at nearby Fort Hood.
– There has been talk of having The Rock show up at next week’s RAW Supershow on Halloween. That show will be hosted by The Muppets.

RAW dark match?, police-HIAC, Y2J tweets on HIAC
– Alberto Del Rio vs. CM Punk vs. John Cena is the advertised dark match for tonight’s RAW at the Cajundome in Lafayette, LA.
– The WWE’s @WWEInsider Twitter account posted the following… “Cops are now talking with John Laurinaitis. Triple H has left the building. Many Superstars are saying they’re very concerned.”
– Chris Jericho had the following to say about the Hell in a Cell PPV on Twitter… “Tremendous ending of the HIAC ppv last night! Reminded me of an old Bill Watts UWF tv taping… @JRsBBQ”

Vince McMahon was upset backstage at RAW
Vince McMahon was irate backstage at Monday’s RAW SuperShow after his name was mentioned by Alberto Del Rio during the live broadcast.
Many people within WWE believe McMahon got upset because he is returning to television soon and did not want his name mentioned. Del Rio and the creative writer involved in the segment were both yelled at backstage by Vince.
Stephanie McMahon, who was on hand for the event, attempted to calm her father down but was unable to do so. He remained temperamental for the rest of the night as he was yelling at colleagues throughout the show and making life miserable for those around him.

What happened after RAW
After last night’s RAW Supershow in Cleveland, John Cena defeated CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio in a three-way to retain the WWE Title. Cena got the pin on Del Rio after an Attitude Adjustment. Cena and Punk had a staredown after the match before Punk raised Cena’s hand and they posed for fans and signed autographs to close the show.

Who came up with ‘Little Jimmy’?, Mysterio
– R-Truth did a recent interview with Charlotte Magazine and revealed that the “Little Jimmy” phrase was the idea of Vince McMahon. Truth also told the magazine that he ad-libs 90% of his promos and that he’s still working on a hip-hop mixtape.
– In keeping with the storyline from Monday’s RAW where WWE temporarily wrote Rey Mysterio off TV with the Alberto Del Rio injury angle, Mysterio commented on Twitter today. Rey wrote that he was injured on Monday by Del Rio and was at the doctors getting an MRI done. Rey said he won’t know the results of the MRI until next week.
As noted before, Rey actually had a legit MRI done on his knee last week and the latest word is that he will miss time away from the ring but won’t be going in for surgery as he’s chosen to go through more rehab instead.
A boxing match at WrestleMania?, Del Rio’s win
BoxingScene.com posted an article about a fight between Montre Barrett and David Tua (nephew of Afa the Wild Samoan) being featured at Wrestlemania in Miami next year. Barrett claimed that he was in contact with John Cena who was talking with WWE’s talent department about it.
In an intersting bit of trivia, Alberto Del Rio won the WWE Title almost exactly a year after he debuted. He made his first television appearance at the Smackdown tapings on August 17 (which aired August 20). Both shows were in Bakersfield.

Major Backstage Update On Kevin Nash & WWE
For those of you looking for answers to the Nash/Punk/HHH/Steph/etc. storyline, you clearly didn’t get them on last night’s edition of RAW. Close sources are saying that it was very chaotic backstage at RAW last night and decisions weren’t made until last minute.
One source said that the CM Punk/Kevin Nash promo was very unscripted. “Those two were working without a net out there,” the source said, “and the jabs they took at each other were not planned beforehand.”
The lack of resolve in the “Who texted Kevin Nash?” story is because WWE still hasn’t solidified the direction they’re going to take yet. “They have five ways they can go with this thing,” said a WWE writer, “and it’s still unclear which one they’re going to choose.” WWE never intended on Del Rio to be the one who “hired” Kevin Nash. The obvious options now are Triple H, Stephanie, Johnny Ace and Vince, but WWE has proven that they don’t always go with the clear choice with things like this, so no one will ever know for sure until it’s finally in the books.
There’s still no word on Kevin Nash’s contract situation and whether he’s agreed to (or even been offered) a new deal now that he’s back on television. Kevin Nash is currently signed to a “Legends” contract. I would imagine something new will be worked out very soon as last night’s RAW was a very good indication that he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. I’ve received a few emails about
Nash being booked on some future independent shows and while he may or may not pull out of those, there have not been reports of him doing so yet.

Kevin Nash Teases RAW Appearance – Details
Kevin Nash teased on Twitter that he will be appearing on tonight’s episode of Raw.
He wrote, “Rumor has it a tall, dark haired dude is going to be on Raw tonight. You better watch. He has a tendency to disappear for months.”
Nash appeared last night at SummerSlam to assault CM Punk following his WWE Championship victory over John Cena. Following the attack, Alberto Del Rio cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and defeated Punk for the belt. Freedom Pro Wrestling announced two days earlier that Nash had suffered a neck injury and would miss their Saturday event. He was replaced by “Diamond” Dallas Page.
What happened after SummerSlam?
Ricardo Rodriguez came out on the stage after the WWE SummerSlam PPV and told everyone to get up and cheer for the new champion – Alberto Del Rio.
Alberto then left the ring and CM Punk got up to standing ovation. As he walked up the ramp, Punk’s music hit.
Lots of SS news: Who did Kelly Kelly kiss?, Sheamus/Henry, Del Rio's bodyguard
– The man that Kelly Kelly kissed at ringside last night during SummerSlam was NHL player Sheldon Souray, who plays for the Dallas Stars. Kelly noted on Twitter that Souray was in town with her mother and word is that the two are now dating. Kelly previously dated WWE star Justin Gabriel.
– Local independent wrestlers from the Pro Wrestling Guerilla promotion were sitting at ringside last night during the spot where Mark Henry and Sheamus crashed through the barrier and into the crowd. WWE used the wrestlers there as extras to prevent fans from getting hurt.
- Alberto Del Rio is the new WWE Champion after defeating the former Champion, CM Punk, at tonight’s SummerSlam pay-per-view.
Moments after Punk won the WWE Title match against John Cena, Kevin Nash returned to WWE and laid Punk out. This brought out Del Rio, who cashed in Money in the Bank to become the new WWE Champion.
A new bodyguard for Del Rio was discussed as far back as two months ago and it looks as if they have filled that role with Kevin Nash.
Punk’s win over John Cena also came in controversial fashion as Cena’s foot was on the ropes and special referee Triple H didn’t see it.

Major Backstage Alberto Del Rio-WWE Update
As noted yesterday, WWE overhauled the SummerSlam card on Monday after deciding that their creative plans for CM Punk at the event were “awful.” This caused Alberto Del Rio to be removed from the WWE Title picture once again.
Del Rio is still scheduled to be WWE Champion at some point in the near future. Those close to the booking situation indicate that John Cena vs. Del Rio for the belt is planned for September but that could always change.
Part of the reason WWE wanted Del Rio as WWE Champion at SummerSlam is because of the Los Angeles market and the hope that they would draw from the Latin community. There was also a long-term plan of Del Rio being champion when WWE returns to Mexico in October with the idea that the would be the first Mexican to hold a WWE Title in Mexico while they were taping TV there for the first time. Del Rio going back to Mexico as WWE Champion is seen as a way to broaden the fan base in what is currently the company’s strongest market.
Six Different RAW Scripts Changed!
As everyone knows by now, this past Monday’s RAW featured the first night that Triple H was “in charge” as well as the returns of John Morrison, Jim Ross and CM Punk.
We noted earlier here on the website that RAW was completely re-written prior to the show going live. In an update on this, there were actually SIX different scripts for RAW that had been circulating throughout the day. One of those scripts had Triple H laying out CM Punk with a pedigree. Of course, that didn’t happen. This just goes to show you how much things change on a daily basis in WWE.
As most would assume, the obvious scenario would be to really push CM Punk to the top considering his recent storyline angle and fan interest. With that being said, most of the RAW scripts were not about having CM Punk go over. They were more about pushing Triple H’s new “authority figure” role. Surprised?!
As noted, the original RAW script called for CM Punk to be attacked by Triple H with a pedigree. Alberto Del Rio would then have come out and cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase against John Cena at SummerSlam. This would have put Triple H over as a major heel and then led to a storyline with CM Punk.
Of course, all scripts besides one were scrapped and that’s what you saw on Monday night.

WrestleMania 27 *Spoilers!* & original plans!
Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter
As everyone knows by now, WrestleMania 27 is this Sunday night on pay-per-view. The event begins at a special start time of 7:00EST. As of last week, the following was discussed in WWE creative meetings:
– The original plans for the Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan match at WrestleMania 27 was to have both Bella Twins in the corner of Sheamus while Gail Kim would have been in the corner of Bryan. They can still go that route with RAW being taped tonight but it appears those plans have been scrapped.
– As noted earlier here on the website, there was talk last week about adding Christian to the Alberto Del Rio vs. Edge World title match at WrestleMania 27. There was also talk of having Christian in the corner of Edge at ‘Mania. This would have resulted in a heel turn, costing Edge the World title. That would then have eventually set up a three-way dance for the World title. Of course, plans changed numerous times and now Christian is in a tag-team match at the pay-per-view. This is expected to be confirmed on RAW tonight.

Report: WWE Talents jealous of Sin Cara?
Source: The Pro Wrestling Torch
Rumors recently surfaced online indicating that Rey Mysterio asked World Wrestling Entertainment officials to release him from his contract following WrestleMania XXVII. Mysterio, however, shot down the rumors on his Twitter account, saying he did not ask to be released and that he will be around for a while. According to a source, Mysterio did in fact have a ‘blow-up’ with WWE management back in February.
Former WCW star Konnan, a longtime friend of Mysterio, told a source that the assumption that the SmackDown! star is bothered by the recent signing of Mexican sensation Sin Cara is way off. He said Mysterio isn’t the type to be jealous. Rather, he welcomes new talent as potential rivals or teammates.
It would appear that Mysterio and Sin Cara will be kept on opposite WWE brands for the time being as the newcomer is slated to initially work RAW live events. As noted earlier here on the website, he made his first appearance inside a WWE ring at last night’s RAW house show in Assembly Hall in Champaign, Illinois, defeating WWE Superstars fixture Primo.
Meanwhile, Alberto Del Rio was asked to comment on WWE signing Sin Cara during an interview published earlier this week on latino.foxnews.com. While the article says he is “pleased” to hear WWE sign a fellow countryman, he doesn’t acknowledge Sin Cara in particular. He instead says that he’s happy WWE is using a number of Latino wrestlers, before turning the subject back to himself.
“I’m just happy this company uses so many Latino talent,” Del Rio said. “There is so much talent out there, from Puerto Rico to Mexico, just to name a few. I hope it continues like that. Because of that, I am here and getting all these opportunities.”
According to another backstage source, the claim of Del Rio being “pleased” about Sin Cara joining WWE is contrary to a behind the scenes story they’ve heard. We’ll have more on that shortly.

Major changes to two top WrestleMania matches!
Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter
– According to sources within WWE, a change is expected to be made to a top tier WrestleMania match over the next few days. Many are speculating that Christian will be added to the World Heavyweight Championship Match between Edge and Alberto Del Rio.
– As of yesterday, creative plans called for Triple H vs. The Undertaker to conclude WrestleMania, with no career ending stipulations.

Layla defeated Kelly Kelly. Michelle McCool was on commentary during this and distracted Kelly Kelly to help Layla win the match.
The Big Show and Kane vs. Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater for the WWE Tag Team Titles is up next. The Big Show and Kane won via DQ. They were both attacked by The Corre afterwards.
Jack Swagger defeated Chris Masters with an ankle lock. Post-match saw Michael Cole come out of his announcer box and put the ankle lock on Masters as well.
Rey Mysterio defeated Ted DiBiase Jr. with 619.
Christian defeated Alberto Del Rio in the main event cage match. This was said to have been really good. Christian won after escaping the cage. Edge came out after the match in Alberto Del Rio’s car and threatened to destroy it. Brodus Clay came out and Del Rio joined with him to beat down Edge. Del Rio also used a chair on Edge’s arm. This ends SmackDown!.
