Piper Praises Punk, Foley’s WWE Return?, Ryder-WWE

– WWE Hall of Famer Roddy Piper recently did an interview with The Post & Courier where he commented on CM Punk: “He says what he felt. Imagine if we had people writing them (promos) back in the day. C.M. Punk has possibly struck a chord that maybe things have gotten mundane. I’m really proud of Punk. It’s great what he did, and good for them for letting him go with it.”

– Mick Foley tweeted the following on Saturday: “Thanks to everyone who has shared ideas or hopes for my return to @WWE. I’m sure I’ll do something with them, somewhere, at some time.”

– Zack Ryder has been teaming with Alex Riley at the weekend RAW live events. They lost to The Miz and R-Truth at Saturday’s show in Rockford, Illinois. Truth and Miz cut a promo before the match talking about their plans to take down the Triple H-led conspiracy.

– CM Punk and John Cena wrestled again at the Rockford show, going to a No Contest after Truth and The Miz interfered. Cena and Punk hit their finishers on the two before ending the show with a staredown, each with their own WWE Title belt.

RAW dark match & partial Superstars *Spoilers!*

DARK MATCH:
Reigning Florida Heavyweight Champion Bo Rotundo worked a dark match prior to tonight’s RAW taping in Hampton, Virginia. Bo Rotunda beat Primo.

- Fairly solid action. Not much crowd participation, though. It started off good and was all right, but didn’t last long. Rotunda won with a springboard bulldog from the turnbuckle.

- Rotundo is the son of Mike Rotunda (a/k/a Irwin R. Schyster) and brother of Raw Superstar Husky Harris. He has been competing in Florida Championship Wrestling since December 2008.

WWE SUPERSTARS:
(1) WWE tag champs David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty beat Santino & Chris Masters. New entrance music for Nexus and “Santino” chants early on. Good back-and-forth, then Santino was isolated for a while. Hot tag to Masters, who was nailed from behind by Mike for Nexus to win.

(2) Alex Riley beat Jack Swagger. Fair heat for Swagger. Big pop for A-Ry. Swagger with a waistlick take down early on followed by stiff slaps to the back of Rikey’s head. Riley came back with a flurry of offense. Swagger regained control and threw Riley in to the barricade, taking control for a few minutes. Riley mounted the comeback and nailed the Impaler DDT for the three count.

The rest of WWE Superstars will be taped tomorrow night at the SD! tapings in Philly.

Will Riley accompany Miz at WrestleMania?, The Rock-Jay Leno

– Though not advertised by WWE, Alex Riley told a fan at yesterday’s WrestleMania Axxess event that he would be accompanying WWE Champion The Miz for his match against John Cena tomorrow night at WrestleMania XXVII.

– The Rock will be appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno this Tuesday, April 5. He is also scheduled to be on RAW this Monday.

The Miz rehires Alex Riley! & John Cena vs. The Miz

– The Miz vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship is advertised for WWE’s upcoming WrestleMania Revenge tour of Ireland in April.

– WWE Champion The Miz announced at Saturday night’s RAW live event in Wichita, Kansas that he has rehired Alex Riley, who was dismissed as his apprentice two weeks ago on RAW. The duo partnered against John Cena and Randy Orton in a tag team match, which they lost.

Exclusive Update on Alex Riley

Although Alex Riley did not show up on the last RAW episode, a source told us that he was scheduled for a match against John Morrison last Sunday at College Station, TX in which he then lost the match. He cut a promo and it seems like he is going solo without having The Miz by his side.

Here were the things he said...

– Alex Riley appeared alongside WWE Champion The Miz on Comcast Sports Net Saturday night and accidentally said the word ‘wrestling’ while discussing NXT. He quickly corrected himself. It sounds crazy but ‘wrestling’ is a major no-no when it comes to talking about WWE. ‘Sports Entertainment’ is the correct term that management insists their talent use.

– We can now confirm that WWE released developmental wrestlers Caylee Turner and Kevin Hackman last week. It’s being speculated that one or two additional developmental wrestlers were let go.
While reasons for their respective departures have yet to be disclosed, Turner’s is not considered a surprise among those in Florida Championship Wrestling. It’s said that she caused a great deal of drama during her time with the organization.

Turner is the younger sister of WWE Diva Alicia Fox while Hackman is a former collegiate football player.

Alex Riley's Mistake!

There was some confusion surrounding Alex Riley and his elimination during the Royal Rumble Sunday night because he was not supposed to go out when he did. He was supposed to hang on to the ring ropes when he was thrown over. This explains why the announcers were asking about him after he had been eliminated. They didn’t call his elimination.
