Randy Orton Set For RAW Tonight?, Y2J/Kofi Praised, More

– Randy Orton is being advertised for tonight’s RAW in Portland, Oregon. It should be interesting as Orton is scheduled to be re-evaluated today after suffering a concussion during a match with The Big Show several weeks ago on RAW. Orton has been out of action since then and was forced to be pulled from the Elimination Chamber match. Obviously, WWE is hoping for the best today.

– Chris Jericho and Kofi Kingston both received high praise for their matches at weekend RAW live events.

– Former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson and real-life boyfriend Alex Rodriguez were spotted at last night’s NBA All-Star Game.

Drew McIntyre's 'gay' gimmick?

WWE SmackDown star Drew McIntyre will be getting a new “arrogant playboy” gimmick. At a weekend WWE SmackDown live event in Honduras, Drew started the new gimmick and was acting sexual and flirting with male fans in the crowd. Before the match, he was seen blowing kisses at some of the males.

It should also be noted that McIntyre stopped the match at one point to comb his hair.

McIntyre wound up losing the match to Ezekiel Jackson.

Original Plans For Chris Jericho & CM Punk Revealed

According to sources, the RAW Battle Royal main event to crown an opponent for CM Punk at WrestleMania 28 was a last minute idea that came from Vince McMahon. Although WWE officials had been planning for months that they were going to do a CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho match at WrestleMania, they just weren’t sure how they were going to get there.

One idea discussed over the past several weeks was that Jericho would insult Punk so bad that Punk would eventually wind up demanding a match between the two. WWE officials decided that the storyline was too close to what they were doing with The Undertaker vs. Triple H storyline so they went a different route.

There were also discussions about fans who just paid to see the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view to determine the WrestleMania main events and having Jericho throw insults to get a title shot would devalue the Chamber to fans.

– Numerous WWE officials were raving about Santino Marella’s performance at last night’s WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. Jim Ross tweeted the following: “Santino 2nite a great example of talent’s maximizing their minutes on TV/PPV. Santino’s gotten over w/ humor. Fans like him. Simple concept.”
